Seeing as I just bought a MK6 FiST, I thought it would be a good time to re-integrate myself into the Oppo community. It’s at this point that I realize that I’m probably the only 19yr old in the world with two STs, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. I now have no monies at all to do teenager stuff, or even people stuff. On the other hand, the FiST is amazing!

The Mk6 FiST was the first series of FiST made and was never offered for sale in ‘Murica. Here in Australia, it was known as the XR4, which is a stupid fucking name. Luckily, the previous owner converted it to the correct badges. These are pretty rare cars in my part of the world, with less than 2000 believed to have been sold here in ‘Straya!

In the meantime, here’s some pics of my new baby.

(FULL DISCLOSURE: The weather in my area has been so shit lately, so the pics here are the pics from in the sale ad because I’ve had no time to clean the FiST.)

It hasn’t got a kit as such from what I can tell, but it has so many mods, who knows?

The interior at the very least is some kind of Mountune dress-up kit.

These things were fully imported by Ford Australia, with special badging for Australia. So it’s a legit Aussie delivery.

As far as I know, things are pretty lax. Can import virtually anything, but where I am, anything 30yrs or younger MUST be converted to RHD, barring some exemption.

My first car is/was a Mondeo ST24, the Euro/Aus equivalent to the Contour SVT.

This was actually the first ST Ford ever made, so all the ST bros have this to thank.

THIS x100! I think we’re in the same boat. I’m still in school too and took out a loan for the FiST. This one is worth three times as much as my other ST hahaha

Would you ever consider eventually trading them in on one newer FiST/FoST when their prices come down? Or do both have particular characteristics and quirks that would be irreplaceable?

Ugh. I’m 18 and own 3 cars and they’re all crap. 2000 Saab wagon, 1995 Tacoma (basically a Hilux with ifs and nicer seats, and a 65 Dodge Dart with a slant 6 (these were pretty popular down by you). I have no money for any teenager stuff. Or money for legit cars.

ST24s are completely ignored by the market, so I was able to get it rather cheap, and I took a lovely high-risk loan to buy the FiST, hence the headline.

Haven’t driven the new FiST and the FoST is actually illegal for me to drive due to my probation licensing system. Not that my modified FiST is legal either! ;)

I’m sure they’re awesome to drive, but they just don’t appeal to me. Once I pay thr FiST off, I’ll get an Ecoboost Mustang once they depreciate enough over here.
